sun's out, book of mormon's out

Hello!


The last two weeks have been eventful! My covid test came back positive so we were stuck inside for a few days. I probably deserved it, I hadn't been the greatest about wearing my mask haha.

We had a week and a half of isolation which had its ups and downs, but we got out just in time for her birthday!! We made some yummy carrot cake and ate souflaqes. YUM.  We were sooo happy to leave the house and see the sun.

Sister Çerepi is a kick. She is so funny and witty, I love her to death!! She was so so patient and strong through her very first two weeks in the mission, IN QUARANTINE. She teaches me so much Albanian, I hope I'm teaching her something too haha. The only words I have helped her learn in english are: skedaddle and boytoy. Yeah, she's really good at english.

Today at pday my phone got chucked into the river, we still arent sure whose fault it was lol. It was a very beautiful hike though! Every hike I have been on in Albania something sketchy has happened due to the lack of trails and railings, today it was almost falling into a waterfall! Luckily I did not.

Armela got baptized on Saturday! It had been a sorta tough and lonely week, but during her beautiful confirmation prayer and the closing song (Childs Prayer<3) I was honestly brought to tears by the spirit! One thing my dad told me a few years ago that I've always remembered is that I can know that whenever I feel the Spirit, Heavenly Father is thinking about me. And that it is a sign of His love for me. I was a bit of a teary mess during the song, but I was so happy in that moment!  I felt the Spirit really strongly again the next morning reading in Alma 5 about how the Lord will never forget His sheep. 

With Easter AND conference coming up, I am SO EXCITED. Because Jesus rose, we all can "rise" too! We can rise from our bad habits, sad days, and weaknesses. We are, and I cannot emphasize this enough, SO. LUCKY. that we have Jesus Christ! And that He is just a prayer away.

59 For what shepherd is there among you having many sheep doth not watch over them, that the wolves enter not and devour his flock? And behold, if a wolf enter his flock doth he not drive him out? Yea, and at the last, if he can, he will destroy him.

The font water heater stopped working, so we ran to the gas station TWICE with a big ole waterbottle to get gas.
I had to go to the bathroom SO bad, I was praying the whole bus ride to make it to the bathroom. And then ironically, this was the bathroom sign.

A great quarantine week! -Stunning hike @Bovila -I went back to Berat for DONA'S baptism!   She is such a light and I admire her so so much.   -Online lesson with Aina who is getting baptized on Saturday!! Quarantine has been really good;  staying obedient even in hard situations brings SHUMË blessings. We have literally seen miracles this week. Halloween Miracles

November 1, 2021 Hi:) if you're reading this please know I miss you! What a wonderful and beautifully chaotic week.  5 funny things that happened this week: 1- We were force-fed a TON of sauerkraut in a lesson.  2-Pierced my companions ears parent trap style. 3-Dressed up as an elder for Halloween and I will not be sending the pictures.. 4-ate CHILI and CORNBREAD and PUMPKIN BREAD. Rroftë Amerika  5- assisted in chopping another sisters hair short and then spent a while trying to even it up haha. We had a beautiful pday in the south of albania today!! And then spent a few hours getting baking instructions yelled at us in albanian by a cute grandma. The day flew by so forgive the short email!!  We had some miraculous lessons this week!!  In a lesson with our new friend and her husband (he is a member who hasn't come in a very long time), she expressed desire to get taught the lessons so she can decide about baptism and he decided he wants to take the steps necess...

Work for the Blessings...Am I Right?

November 9, 2020  Hii!! I felt so happy to be a missionary this week, so many good things happened! We are teaching a young mom right now, Dona. We invited Dona to church and told her we would walk with her. When we showed up to her house on Sunday she had brought her mom and sons!! After, on the way home she told us that she wanted to be baptized, like really soon. It was amazing!! One of my favorite things about teaching people the gospel is watching the Spirit change their demeanor. You can see a light in their eyes. I LOVE IT. At a lesson with our neighbors this week (!!!) a lady gave me some green olives and olive oil. Yum right? Mm well, green olives straight off the tree are nottt edible. And i learned that a few weeks ago harvesting olives when I tried one! So. I ate the supppper bitter olive and smiled through the pain.
