ONE YEAR!

June 28 2021

One year as a missionary, crazy.  I am sad that time is flying so fast, this week has been one of the fastest!:(

Some super fun things that have happened this week:

Got my wallet back #robbed BUT my cards were still there!! Blessed.

We bribed the post office lady into giving me my package without any authorization. And now she wants to meet up with us and learn english!! The power of a drink and a croissant..

We got locked out and valiantly tried to break in with a credit card, result: broken card & a very locked door

In order to get out of drinking dhallë (salty curdled milk) I told the members I have stomach problems (which I DO after drinking this stuff) and they graciously brought me a homemade baking soda concoction to help my stomach. And of course I had to include sister johnson in on the fun. We were burping weird all day after that hahaha.

Had a cool experience where a member told us he was prompted to ask us if we needed blessings and we said yes of course we would love a blessing!  The night before I had had a bad dream and woke up sad and scared something had happened to my family (im 12, i know) anyways, in the blessing he said multiple times that my family is safe and healthy and not to worry about them! Cool experience and reminder that God is aware! Even of sister munns's scary dreams.

Sister Johnson and I are having an absolute blast together, haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Think we are starting to annoy the elders, but ca te bejme eh?

This year has been the best year, being in the Lords service 24/7 is incredible. I have learned so much about my relationship with God and His love for His children!  It is sometimes hard, but it is the best type of hard!! Albania feels like home and I fall more in love with the Albanian people and culture every day.  I am so grateful that I have 6 more months EEE!

A great quarantine week! -Stunning hike @Bovila -I went back to Berat for DONA'S baptism!   She is such a light and I admire her so so much.   -Online lesson with Aina who is getting baptized on Saturday!! Quarantine has been really good;  staying obedient even in hard situations brings SHUMË blessings. We have literally seen miracles this week. I feel so close to Heavenly Father, even though I sometimes feel very far from my family and loved ones! Halloween Miracles

November 1, 2021 Hi:) if you're reading this please know I miss you! What a wonderful and beautifully chaotic week.  5 funny things that happened this week: 1- We were force-fed a TON of sauerkraut in a lesson.  2-Pierced my companions ears parent trap style. 3-Dressed up as an elder for Halloween and I will not be sending the pictures.. 4-ate CHILI and CORNBREAD and PUMPKIN BREAD. Rroftë Amerika  5- assisted in chopping another sisters hair short and then spent a while trying to even it up haha. We had a beautiful pday in the south of albania today!! And then spent a few hours getting baking instructions yelled at us in albanian by a cute grandma. The day flew by so forgive the short email!!  We had some miraculous lessons this week!!  In a lesson with our new friend and her husband (he is a member who hasn't come in a very long time), she expressed desire to get taught the lessons so she can decide about baptism and he decided he wants to take the steps necess...

Work for the Blessings...Am I Right?

November 9, 2020  Hii!! I felt so happy to be a missionary this week, so many good things happened! We are teaching a young mom right now, Dona. We invited Dona to church and told her we would walk with her. When we showed up to her house on Sunday she had brought her mom and sons!! After, on the way home she told us that she wanted to be baptized, like really soon. It was amazing!! One of my favorite things about teaching people the gospel is watching the Spirit change their demeanor. You can see a light in their eyes. I LOVE IT. At a lesson with our neighbors this week (!!!) a lady gave me some green olives and olive oil. Yum right? Mm well, green olives straight off the tree are nottt edible. And i learned that a few weeks ago harvesting olives when I tried one! So. I ate the supppper bitter olive and smiled through the pain.
