CYPRUS
August 2 2021
I have left Tirana and I am serving in Paphos and Limassol, Cyprus!! My companion, Sister Mengolli, is french and an angel in my life. I adore her. It was so hard to say goodbye to my people in Tirana, and all the missionaries too! I am so grateful to have so many amazing people in my life!! I also feel so lucky to have had the dreamiest transfer with Sis Johnson. Words cant explain how grateful I am for her!
Tuesday night in Albania we did a big last second service project with the help of Elders Warner and Collins who seriously saved us!! We secretly delivered tons of things to 2 of my favoritest families in the world. We even got to see some of their reactions while we were hiding around the corner. So so happy.
Early Wednesday morning I flew out of Tirana!! My first flight was delayed and resulted in me missing my second flight out of Athens. After wandering around the airport for a while trying to find someone who would help me, I got on another flight!! 12 hrs later I made it to Cyprus and was welcomed by my amazing companion and McDonalds. The Diet Coke really made up for the fact that my suitcases didnt make it on the flight. That same night I had to figure out driving on the left side of the road to get us home. Sister Mengolli doesnt drive, but she certainly knows enough about driving that she was worried for her life the whole way home. Cant blame her haha, I definitely had a few scary moments!! :0
Cyprus is incredible. We work with so many refugees from all over! We have had lessons with friends from Cameroon, Nigeria, and the Congo. Our church congregation was made up of: 1 Brit, 2 filipinas, 3 Nigerians, 2 Columbians, 1 Bulgarian, 1 Russian, 1 French, and me!! SO COOL. And we do everything in English! It is so crazy different than the rest of my mission so far.
This week was good, but really hard!! I didn't expect myself to be so homesick for Albania. It feels like I am brand new in a different mission!! There have been so many little miracle moments and so many answered prayers. I am 100% sure that I will adjust so soon and feel more comfortable here!!
Last week I recorded some members testimonies in Albania as a keepsake. One sister, who has had some insanely hard months, told us that she wishes God would give her even more trials because they give life so much more meaning. And that they make us so much better.
I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve in this wonderful place, and I'm grateful that its been hard!! I have been wanting to feel closer to the Spirit and to Heavenly Father, and nothing does that better than a few hard days.
LONG EMAIL sheesh!! Love you all so much. Your prayers are felt and very appreciated. Your emails make me smile!! Let me know how I can pray for you.
