City wide firework battle? Yes pls

New year's eve was SO FUN.  We were able to stay up later!! So since I'm in a pretty big city full of big apartment buildings, everyone just chucks massive fireworks off their balconies. I have seriously NEVER seen anything cooler. I'll send a video clip, but imagine seeing thousands of fireworks literally bouncing off of apartment buildings, everywhere. And we live on the 7th floor!! So cool, we seriously hung out of the windows watching.


More good news. I finally got fed by members on Friday! First time as a missionary.   And then 4 times after that until now. I. Feel. Huge. Albanian food is very hit or miss, I've found. I ate some awesome food this week, but also cow tripe. Woo!

We got surprised with transfer calls and Bezzi is leaving. I am so sad!! I've learned so much from her and I love her shumë. My next comp is gonna be Sister Anderson and we are from the same MTC group! It'll be a great time. I'm kinda nervous to lead the area because half the time I've been here we have been in quarantine! But it will be good. I'm excited.

We had some fun lessons this week. One lady told us that God told her to eat aloe vera for breakfast. So she does!  She was also proposed to by Oliver Cowdery. We love her.

I am so excited for a new year and everything that will come. I feel so blessed to be able to have had 2020!! Crazy to think that a year ago this week my hospital #lyfe was just beginning. I am so grateful for the many blessings and trials from this last year.  As a mission we listened to "Remember Lot's Wife" by Jeffrey R Holland. My favorite quote was, "Faith is for the future". In a book I'm reading it says that if we are not building our faith, it is shrinking! I love the concept of faith and I am learning so much about it.

A great quarantine week! -Stunning hike @Bovila -I went back to Berat for DONA'S baptism!   She is such a light and I admire her so so much.   -Online lesson with Aina who is getting baptized on Saturday!! Quarantine has been really good;  staying obedient even in hard situations brings SHUMË blessings. We have literally seen miracles this week. I feel so close to Heavenly Father, even though I sometimes feel very far from my family and loved ones! Halloween Miracles

November 1, 2021 Hi:) if you're reading this please know I miss you! What a wonderful and beautifully chaotic week.  5 funny things that happened this week: 1- We were force-fed a TON of sauerkraut in a lesson.  2-Pierced my companions ears parent trap style. 3-Dressed up as an elder for Halloween and I will not be sending the pictures.. 4-ate CHILI and CORNBREAD and PUMPKIN BREAD. Rroftë Amerika  5- assisted in chopping another sisters hair short and then spent a while trying to even it up haha. We had a beautiful pday in the south of albania today!! And then spent a few hours getting baking instructions yelled at us in albanian by a cute grandma. The day flew by so forgive the short email!!  We had some miraculous lessons this week!!  In a lesson with our new friend and her husband (he is a member who hasn't come in a very long time), she expressed desire to get taught the lessons so she can decide about baptism and he decided he wants to take the steps necess...

Work for the Blessings...Am I Right?

November 9, 2020  Hii!! I felt so happy to be a missionary this week, so many good things happened! We are teaching a young mom right now, Dona. We invited Dona to church and told her we would walk with her. When we showed up to her house on Sunday she had brought her mom and sons!! After, on the way home she told us that she wanted to be baptized, like really soon. It was amazing!! One of my favorite things about teaching people the gospel is watching the Spirit change their demeanor. You can see a light in their eyes. I LOVE IT. At a lesson with our neighbors this week (!!!) a lady gave me some green olives and olive oil. Yum right? Mm well, green olives straight off the tree are nottt edible. And i learned that a few weeks ago harvesting olives when I tried one! So. I ate the supppper bitter olive and smiled through the pain.
