Hi my fav people
Another happy and exhausting week in the best city!! It has been chilly and very rainy here so naturally the Albanian people are pretty much hibernating. Megjithate we still had a very busy week!!
It has been humbling seeing Erik and Miranda commit to stop drinking coffee in order to get baptized this week(!!!!!). It has been fun because we started teaching both of them within the same transfer and they have progressed at really similar rates. While we have used different methods and emphasized different points with both of them, it's been super cool seeing how regardless of the difference in age, financial background, educational level, the gospel is relevant to everyone. Sis Eyre and I have been speculating a lot about how interesting it is that your understanding of the Gospel and of spiritual things doesn't necessarily correlate with your education or intelligence. The Gospel speaks to your soul.
One cool thing about Miranda is that she and her husband are currently in school reviving their highschool degree. She is a very honest and raw person and I love her to pieces. She always gives us advice and lately a lot of clothing that doesn't fit her anymore, like the hat pictured below:). Her husband had been distanced from the church for over 6 years but is now working with the bishop to be able to baptize her this week.
We have been really trying to teach Erik with other YSA members and it's been super great. We think we are pretty sneaky because we invite less active YSA to the lessons and then ask them to share their testimonies. The Spirit is always super strong. Erik is a funny stoic 17 year old who looks and acts like a 25 year old man. This week when we extended an invitation to him he asked us why we "invite" him to keep the commandments because "If God tells me to do something I will do it, there's no other choice." He is awesome!!
A lot of things happened this week but I figure I can just fill you all in next week in person:0 It's starting to feel more real now, but I know when it really hits me I am going to be a train wreck. I love being here.
We had a mission conference this week and something I loved was "Focus on what you don't see as you act with intentional faith." I have felt the presence of angels on my mission, seen the hand of the Lord, and I have witnessed miracles seriously every day. I am so honored to have spent the last 18 months testifying of my Savior and I am SO excited for this week ahead of me!
I love you and I pray for you!!
