Weeks 2 & 3!!

July 15, 2020

Hello!!

It's been a speedy two weeks! I technically am on week 4 of the MTC, almost halfway done.  I am still really enjoying the MTC at home, especially because I was able to have my final surgery last week! This one was on my eyelid, and something that wasn't going to happen until after I got home from my mission!  Round 5 in the OR this year, but this time was not only optional, but also very exciting!!  Very grateful for all the little miracles that made this surgery a possibility :)

Motra Boesl (my companion) and I have had a lot of teaching opportunities in the past two weeks and we have had some cool experiences, even though we are only teaching actors and our teachers haha. We were teaching in Albanian one day about the Atonement and showed a video in Shqip (Albanian).  Frankly, I had no idea what was being said in the video and I don't think my companion did either.  But the Spirit was very strong, and we were all a bit teary eyed.  Afterwards I decided to dergoje (send it) and bear my testimony.  Christ's love for us is such a beautiful thing.  The Atonement is dhurata më e madhe/the greatest gift that we could ever receive!

My district has gotten much closer in the past two weeks and they are awesome.  During one class, everyone was obsessed with guessing how tall everyone was.  It was pretty entertaining because all we ever see is shoulder up and we really had no idea.  When I was asked my height, two sisters in my district were legitimately shocked and asked if I can "even fit through a door". Um yes, doors are like 6'8 feet tall.  Turns out I'm half a foot taller than almost every sister in my district. It was pretty funny.

My district made a quick video in which everyone shared 2-3 sentences testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel.  It was filmed on the same day I was operated on so I'm not in this one, but it has been really cool to see how people on Facebook have reacted to it.  Almost 3.5k people have watched it!  There are a few comments where someone who has no idea what we are saying explained how they felt a good, happy feeling watching it.  Pretty cool. I felt pretty hesitant about using social media on my mission as a tool, but I'm already seeing how much good can come through it.

It's honestly amazing the way the Holy Ghost can enter people's hearts and break down barriers.  It's very comforting to know that even while speaking very broken Albanian, the Holy Ghost is present and saying everything I can't.
Moroni 10:5:  "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." A classic, but it never gets old!
