August 19, 2020 WOW.  Today marks two months into my mission. So wild!  I am so grateful for this bonus time with my family. ALBANIA.  I LEAVE NEXT WEDNESDAY FOR ALBANIA.  I am so excited oh my gosh.  I found out this week that my reassignment has been canceled and I will be going STRAIGHT to my original assignment! I thought that I had a month until I was supposed to leave to Tennessee, so the last few days have been hectic, but I love it!!! I am SO grateful for this opportunity, and I'm praying that the rest of the world can open up too!!   TEMPLE.  My grandparents have been helping me out BIG time to be able to get a spot at a temple.  After many calls and emails, I'm going to the Provo temple next Monday!! Tender mercy. I am so grateful that the Lord's work is always progressing, and so grateful to be a part of it.  SO PROUD of all my missionaries out there right now!  I love you all. Esther 4:14- "Who knoweth whethe...

Weeks 5 and 6!!

August 5, 2020 Hi everyone!!  3 weeks left and I'm so excited to get to the field!!  Alma 37:36- I know that if something is important to you, it is important to Heavenly Father! Prayer is amazing! Pray to Him in all things because He IS listening and wants to communicate with you!  A few of the elders and sisters in my district have been up in SL this week, and it’s been really fun to finally meet them! We climbed Mount Olympus this morning as a group. Someone said “Motra Munns, I love you but this is horrible” Hahaha. 7ish hours later we pulled back into the driveway. Fun times though! Hopefully my district isn’t too bugged with me and Motra Johnson for our choice of hike. But it has really been so fun to be around other missionaries learning Albanian, and SO FUN having two fellow sisters staying at my house! Makes me even more anxious for the field.  Love you all!!  Xo Motra Munns  Pretty sunset walk Mount Oly!! Grateful to live in such a...

Week 4!

July 22, 2020 Përshëndetje!!  My week has been pretty typical, starting to get into the groove of things!! The hours go by slowly, but every night I feel like the day flew by.   BIG NEWS!  I've been temporarily reassigned to the Knoxville, Tennessee mission!!  Apparently it is the birthplace of Mountain Dew, and is the "cradle of country music".  I CANNOT WAIT. I leave Sept 8!  I have been anticipating a reassignment for months now, so finally getting mine was really exciting!  I am seriously stoked about going to the south!!!  By the time I get there, I will have hit 12 weeks as a missionary.  Kind of crazy! It's been harder to stay on the Albanian grind since my reassignment, since I highly doubt I'll be speaking much Shqip in Tennessee hahaha.  But I do know that no matter how much time I actually spend in Albania, I'm supposed to be learning Albanian and that there is a reason for it! On Saturday I'm halfway through wi...

Weeks 2 & 3!!

Image
July 15, 2020 Hello!!  It's been a speedy two weeks! I technically am on week 4 of the MTC, almost halfway done.  I am still really enjoying the MTC at home, especially because I was able to have my final surgery last week! This one was on my eyelid, and something that wasn't going to happen until after I got home from my mission!  Round 5 in the OR this year, but this time was not only optional, but also very exciting!!  Very grateful for all the little miracles that made this surgery a possibility :) Motra Boesl (my companion) and I have had a lot of teaching opportunities in the past two weeks and we have had some cool experiences, even though we are only teaching actors and our teachers haha. We were teaching in Albanian one day about the Atonement and showed a video in Shqip (Albanian).  Frankly, I had no idea what was being said in the video and I don't think my companion did either.  But the Spirit was very strong, and we were all a bit tea...

WEEK NJË!

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 Përshëndetje everyone!  First week down!  I am loving the MTC. The past 7 days have flown by.  It's definitely been an adjustment adhering to missionary rules all of a sudden, but it's all been really fun.  Being at home definitely has its perks!! My schedule!!  Wake up at 6:30 (haha anyone who knows me knows that I'm possibly the world's worst morning person), comp study at 7:30, class from 9-12, lots of studying and a little bit of relaxin' till 5, class 5-8, and bed at 10:30.  Waking up and going to bed on time is probably my biggest challenge yet hahaha, but we're getting there.  My district is awesome annnd... we are all going to the Adriatic South!  We spend a lot of time together on zoom and we are actually starting to get to know each other a lot better than I thought we would!! We are from all over the place, Utah, Arizona, South Carolina, Philippines, and Germany! Super cool people. My comp i...
